R.A.D. Camps explores over 50 unique summer locations and operates under a special use permit in Deschutes and Willamette National Forests. Here at R.A.D. Camps we have designed programs that give kids, ages 7-17, the opportunity to explore pristine destinations while learning about their natural surroundings. R.A.D. Camps emphasizes fun, free play, camaraderie, and an appreciation for the natural world.
A typical day consists of meeting at 8am and driving to the day’s destination in one of our RAD vans. Once at the trailhead, kids put on their backpacks it the trail to the destination of the day. The groups play group games, swim, eat lunch, become familiar with local flora and fauna, explore the area, and use their imaginations to have fun. A main focus of the program is to teach kids to appreciate and respect the environment while practicing "Leave No Trace" principles. After having the time of their lives, the campers will head back to the RAD van for the ride home - arriving around 4pm.
All R.A.D. Camps guides are required to complete a background check, attend "Mandatory Child Abuse Reporting" training, maintain current Wilderness First Responder or higher certifications, and be trained as professional lifeguards.
RAD Camps does not discriminate against race, gender, religion, age, or physical/mental abilities.
We value your feedback:
"We love R.A.D camps! It has been an amazing experience for our son Alder. He is getting out and enjoying some of the most beautiful places that Central Oregon has to offer. There is nothing better then your kid spending the day hiking, swimming, caving and making new friends including frogs! R.A.D. Camps have created a wonderful outlet for kids to experience things they might not have ever experienced before. We are thrilled to be a part of such a wonderful program and we look forward to getting "RAD" every summer!"
