Summer day camps are structured learning and engagement programs that are usually conducted during the months of summer. They offer multiple fun and recreational activities for children between the ages of 7-17. Summer day camps are an excellent way to give your child a much-needed break from the humdrum of a tough school routine.
R.A.D. Camp offers summer day camps in Oregon. Our summer programs are designed with a special focus on free play, fun, camaraderie, and an appreciation for the natural world. During our summer day camp program, the children play games, swim, eat lunch, and become familiar with local flora and fauna. We encourage campers to use their imaginations to enjoy the gorgeous natural surroundings.
To have the best experience, all campers should bring multiple essential items to the camp. At the same time, it is important to abstain from packing certain unnecessary and pointless items in your day pack. We encourage parents to ensure their child does not carry these items when joining the summer day camp.
All Forms of Electronic Gadgets
Summer day camp programs encourage exploration of the natural world while staying away from electronic gadgets. On average, most children between the age of 8-12 living in the U.S.A. have a screen time of 4-6 hours. Therefore, if you wish to have an authentic summer day camp experience, we discourage bringing any electronic gadgets to the summer day camp. This includes cellphones, iPad, laptops, etc.
You can bring a digital camera to the camp to capture the special moments.
Valuable and Expensive Items
At summer day camps, children play multiple outdoor games and engage in fun activities such as swimming, hiking, rowing, skiing, mountain climbing, etc. Children are usually high on adrenaline and can get careless about their personal belongings. Therefore, campers should not carry any expensive and valuable items in their day pack because they might end up losing them or they can get ruined.
For e.g., don't let your child pack an exclusive baseball cap that has been autographed by his favorite player. Likewise, expensive watches and exquisite jewelry pieces should not be carried as well.
Any Form of Weapon
It goes without saying that all day camps prohibit carrying any weapon, not even for self-defense purposes. This includes pocket knives, ax, rifles, archery, firearms, toy guns, prop swords, etc. Anything which poses harm to self or fellow campers is off-limits
New and Fancy Clothes
Most summer day camps have a strict no-pet policy. We recommend not to accompany your child with a pet animal. Don't worry! We have scheduled plenty of fun activities to keep your child fully occupied. He won't miss his furry buddy for a few hours.
Neophobia is the fear of trying new things. We recommend your child not to carry this fear while joining our awesome summer day camp because we have planned many fun activities to try out this summer. Our summer day camp's safe and friendly environment is the perfect place to try new activities. So join our camp with high spirits.
A good summer camp will give your child memories they will cherish forever! If you're searching for an entertaining and affordable outdoor summer adventure, enroll your child in our R.A.D. Camps summer programs.
