While summer holidays give children a much-needed break from their hectic study routine, they quickly become bored by staying at home day and night. Children need excitement, fun, adventure, and challenges to survive the long days of summer. From games to experimental activities, projects, crafts, and more, summer day camps have a lot to offer to keep children happy and excited all summer. Keep this in mind, the summer day camp programs at R.A.D Camps are organized. We offer multiple fun-filled activities to children in the forests and mountains of Central Oregon. We take our little campers to multiple adventurous locations. Our summer day camp programs are designed to focus on outdoor exploration, free play, camaraderie, and an appreciation for the natural world. We provide children with a unique and exciting experience that keeps them coming back every summer. Here is a list of fun and challenging summer day camp activities that make the camping experience a delight for your children. Scavenger HuntThe scavenger hunt is a camp classic and is always popular among children. It can be made simple or challenging depending on the age of the campers. A scavenger hunt is an activity in which the camp guides prepare a list of specific items, which the campers gather within the given time. The list contains items that can be common or rare to find but are found within the campground. Usually, the campers work in small teams and compete with each other to finish the task. Each team’s goal is to be the first to complete the list. The team that gathers the most items on the list wins the game. A good old-fashioned scavenger hunt always proves to be fun for children. A scavenger hunt is not just an exciting game but also helps children develop problem-solving skills. Treasure hunt![]() A treasure hunt is an outdoor activity that encourages children to be active and explorative. It is pretty similar to a scavenger hunt but involves finding a treasure with the help of clues. It is a fun and adventurous experience for children of all ages. Hiding clues and treasure set up the game. The clues can be in the form of simple drawings that tell children where to find the next clue. The final clue leads to the treasure. The outdoor space has lots of exciting things to find and places to hide them, making the treasure hunt a much more exciting activity for the campers. KayakingKayaking is a great summer day camp activity that provides a fun way to get out in the water. It allows campers to admire the beauty of water bodies and see things from a new perspective. In addition, it allows them to observe and learn about aquatic life. Even though kayaking is a safe sport, the safety of children is ensured with lifejackets and by preparing them to deal with kayak tip-overs. Water DodgeballDodgeball game becomes much more fun when it involves water balloons. This is mainly a fantastic activity for hot summer days because it allows children to cool off while having fun with water. The game can be played in teams by giving each team different colored balloons and awarding the team who lands their balloons on the highest number of opponents.
