The Evolution of Adventure: What’s New for R.A.D. Camps in Summer 2026
Summer 2026 marks the biggest shift in our history. For over a decade, R.A.D. Camps has been known as Central Oregon’s premier roaming outdoor adventure program. This year, we aren’t just offering rides to the woods—we are evolving into a multi-disciplinary Campus Ecosystem.
Whether you are a local parent in Sisters looking to skip the commute, a Tumalo family tired of camp lotteries, or a visitor seeking a single day of adventure for your kids, our 2026 lineup is built to say "Yes" where others say "Waitlist."
Here is everything you need to know about our new programs, expanded locations, and the "Zero-Friction" summer we’ve planned for you.
1. Introducing the "Campus" Model
We are expanding beyond our "roaming" roots to leverage the incredible facilities at Seven Peaks School. This allows us to offer programs that aren't weather-dependent and cater to a wider variety of interests.
Rad Nest: Nature-Based Preschool (Ages 3-4)
We are thrilled to launch Rad Nest, our new program designed specifically for the "littles." This isn't just daycare; it’s a gentle introduction to the R.A.D. ethos.
The Experience: A nurturing "soft start" to adventure, combining the safety of our Seven Peaks facility with daily nature walks to Skyliner Park.
Why Parents Love It: We maintain a tight 1:6 staff-to-camper ratio to ensure safety and attention.
Note: All Rad Nest campers must be potty independent.
Rad Studio: STEAM & Makerspace (Ages 7-13)
For the builders, creators, and "indoor kids" who love to tinker, we present Rad Studio.
The Experience: This is a true STEAM program utilizing the high-tech Makers Lab at Seven Peaks. Campers will rotate through weekly themes involving 3D printers, CNC machines, woodworking, and robotics.
The Focus: Unlike our daily drop-in camps, Rad Studio is project-based, giving campers the time to build something real that they can take home.
2. Specialized Adventure Partnerships
For the older kids ready to level up their skills, we’ve partnered with the best in the business.
Climbing Camp: Led by expert guides at Smith Rock, this program (capped at 13 campers) offers world-class climbing instruction.
Cycle Oregon x R.A.D. Bike Camp: In partnership with Cycle Oregon, we are removing the biggest hurdle to biking: the gear. We provide the bikes and helmets, so your child can learn trail riding without you needing to rent or haul equipment.
3. We’re Coming to You: Sisters & Tumalo Pickups
We know the drive to Bend can be a barrier. That’s why we are turning our vans into "Satellite Campuses." Your camp day starts the moment you get in the van.
Sisters, Oregon: Gateway to the Wilderness
Skip the commute to Bend. We are offering daily pickups directly from the Sisters Ranger Station (201 N. Pine St).
The Value: We take your kids directly into the Santiam and Willamette National Forests for their adventure. It’s the "free-play" wilderness experience you love, right from your doorstep.
Tumalo, Oregon: No Lottery, Just Adventure
Frustrated by waitlists and lotteries? R.A.D. Camps offers guaranteed registration with daily pickups at The Bite in Tumalo.
The Routine: Drop your camper off, grab a coffee, and head to work. Pick them up and grab dinner at the food carts. We handle the rest.
4. Visiting Bend? We Are Your "Adventure Concierge"
If you are visiting Central Oregon, you might face the "Vacation Paradox": you want to hike South Sister or visit a brewery, but your kids want to play.
R.A.D. Camps is the solution.
Daily Drop-In: Unlike other camps that require a weekly commitment, you can book us for a single day.
The "Parent’s Hall Pass": You get a day to explore "Adult Bend" while your kids have their best day ever exploring the lakes and caves.
Zero Gear Needed: From bikes to transport, we provide what they need.
Registration Opens Tuesday, January 27
We are anticipating high demand for these new programs. Registration opens Tuesday, January 27, 2026.
Rad Nest & Rad Studio: Space is strictly limited due to facility ratios.
Sisters & Tumalo Vans: Seats are first-come, first-served.
Get ready to secure your summer. We’ll see you in the van!
